I was outside this morning shoveling this awful white crap so the hoont could get around the yard when I had one of those "time travel memory moments" I sometimes get.
I had this complete and total full sensory flashback to the mid-1980's.
Chad was about 8. DJ was about 6. And it was winter, probably Christmas-time.
This was way back before the huge deck and swimming pool were put in the following summer. This is the yester-times I'm talking about...considering Chad is soon to be 26... this is way pre-Dark Ages Nala even.
Anyway. I think the boys and I created what is probably the finest snow fort ever. It wasn't beautiful by any means, but it could withstand a small tactical nuclear blast.
It was around 14 feet long and close to 4 feet tall. The walls were at least 18" thick. I'm talking an enourmous beast of a snow fort here. A fort that would make any human male stand in awe.
The topping on the snow fort cake was when I pulled the hose out and soaked the entire thing in water.
Yes. The next day we had a 14 feet long 4 feet tall solid fort of ice in the back yard. Super mega coolness if you ask me.
I just thought I'd share.
