I feel fat today. Go figure.

Been awhile since we had company.

I remember I had such great plans for the dining room.

I was going to get an expensive 9x12 print rug that went with the dark red walls and picked up the colors of the wood. I was going to try and get that vintage 1920s art deco dining room set from the Brownings. I was going to replace that hideous chandelier with something less invoking of a gag reflex.

Today. I'm happy it just doesn't look like total shit.

Hensley was in one of his "company moods" since there were people over he didn't know. Unfortunately he's gotten into a really bad habit of begging that I'm less than thrilled with. Since I have been giving him his meds in soy nut butter lately he expects something everytime I open up the flatware drawer. Gotta break him of this.

It was really nice to see Christine and Ben. I hadn't seen Christine since September 2004 when Giga and I stayed with her in The City.

Giga's food turned out really good too. He's in an unusual "gotta cook" mood now that Autumn has completely and utterly arrived.

The place looks nice. I agree with you about the chandelier. It just looks so small in the room.

I just think you look really tired Giga. After reading about the meal you cooked, you deserve to look tired. It sounded really good.

After working a 9hr day, yeah.
Today, 13hrs so far. Hopefully home by 10pm.

Tired yes, but not fat. For fat, check out my cookout picture.
And I will gladly trade my orzo and pesto recipe for your chicken apple herb one.

Your orzo and pesto was a HUGE hit!

the orzo and pesto was fantastic.

i will copy the herbed apple chicken one for you. it's really really simple and turned out fine despite the lack of proper herbs.

I'm thinking the apple and chicken sounds really good.

The pesto is simple too, 15 minutes with a food processor.
