I mean, it never went away, but blogging and posting has changed so substantially in the past 28 years.
I was blogging with hard coded HTML pages back in the long long ago before the word “blog” had even been coined.
I’m going to try to find someone with database knowledge would might be able to help me export decades of posts from 1998 to the early 2010s. They were all done on the MovableType platform, and that has changed so drastically as to be foreign to me now. I was never good at the real technical back end stuff of dbs. Then again, nobody has ever trained me to be.
Perhaps I should devote time to learning the backend of MySQL to at least get the text content into a format I can bring into WordPress.
I’ve very much like to access the 1998-2003 versions of my content, and especially the 2003-2007 years with all of the house remodeling content.
Hell, I’m actually in the same boat with plasticcrack.com. All that amazing content and I can’t really get at some of the stuff because it was done on MovableType.
